WHO ARE WE

Step It Up Camp, is a nonprofit organization founded in 2012, by a mentor and educator, committed to empowering & uplifting underrepresented neighborhoods throughout Snohomish and King County. We understand that society today and the many challenges youth encounter daily are even more expansive than 20 or 30 years ago.

Our motivation has always been, to provide all youths with a safe, positive, and welcoming environment while being cognizant of the many financial challenges; using transformative avenues to overcome those hurdles.

More importantly, implementing adequate programs designed to educate youths with critical life skills in developing a positive mindset both mentally, emotionally, and physically.

The Look Within was started in July of 2020 by Dolan Tierney, an ex-student athlete attending college in downtown Minneapolis. He started the brand to shine light on the conversation of Mental Health in the midst of a global pandemic. From going through challenging seasons of life, to encountering others struggling with mental health, his motivation fuels from giving others hope.

Step It Up Camp and Town & Country spent the past 6 years reaching beyond the boundaries to those unrepresented, making sure they have the same opportunities as others.

The Founders Founded in 1990 by technology aficionados Will and Robin Rutherford, with the help of their like-minded friend Charles, Computer Concepts initially provided Amiga (Commodore), Atari, Mac and PC hardware, software and service. Over the next ten years the company shifted, in step with its customers, to primarily PC-related services. We continue to incorporate technology advances into our knowledgebase and product lines

Why Thoughts Need Company? Today’s student-athletes face a variety of undue pressures to perform on a consistent basis on and off of the basketball court. We at TNC believe it is important that athletes learn how to use basketball and their minds to help them overcome high-intensity situations and dilemmas, along with mental health obstacles and challenges. As Covid-19 has altered our way of living, it has also created even more mental health challenges for our youth. "The wave of stress, the mental strain, the disorientation and disassociation that so many of our children are feeling today — they're going to need help, and not just from their parents and their loved ones, they're going to need help from us all."–Xavier Becerra, United States Secretary of Health and Human Services With that said, our mission is to help basketball players navigate their careers both on and off of the basketball court by creating a fun, competitive, and growth-oriented community. Our events and services emphasize leadership education, confidence building, mindfulness and visualization, brand awareness/development, mentorship, and skill development. For the many student-athletes who feel alone in their thoughts, we remind you that your thoughts are not alone, your Thoughts just Need some Company. –D.J. Fenner
